Help Us Shape the Future of BorderLands Gravel

BorderLands Gravel has always been about more than a race. Hopefully, we've done a good job of communicating that consistently. It is about bringing people together, exploring a landscape that deserves to be seen, and building something meaningful for Douglas and Cochise County. Every rider who lined up in the desert this year brought energy, curiosity, and a sense of adventure that makes this event what it is.

Now we need your help as we look ahead to next year.

We want to keep improving the race experience, and your feedback plays a major role in that. At the same time, the data we collect from participants is essential as we continue working with Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona tourism, and the many local partners who make this event possible.

This is where your voice matters. The reality is that events like BorderLands Gravel create a real economic impact for rural communities. Visitors stay in hotels, eat at local restaurants, buy fuel, shop in town, and discover places they have never visited before. We know this anecdotally because many of you shared that this was your first time in Douglas, and you were surprised by its hospitality, history, and scenery. But to continue building this event and to strengthen partnerships with the city, county leaders, and state tourism, we need real data to support what we are seeing.

How long did you stay? Where did you sleep? What did you spend in the community? What brought you here? These answers help us tell a true story of why events like BorderLands Gravel matter for Douglas and the surrounding region.

Your responses help us:

  • Demonstrate economic impact to local and state tourism leaders

  • Strengthen partnerships with Douglas, Cochise County, and regional businesses

  • Build support for future improvements and opportunities

  • Plan the race experience with better insight into what riders want

  • Continue making this event a win for both cyclists and the community

We want BorderLands Gravel to be something that grows with intention and care. We want it to be a model of how rural communities can use outdoor recreation and adventure tourism to spark new energy. And we want racers to feel like their experience is valued and heard.
